Marblewood, and/or Tigre Caspi is a unique species that grows from Central America in to South America. The pale yellow to light golden color is marked with dark lines in the grain that give it a striped appearance. It is a popular wood for wood turning and polishes well. It also has a texture that is uniform and can have good luster. The high contrast between the golden body and the much darker streaks give it an appearance somewhat similar to natural marble, hence the common name of Marblewood" for this species. Marblewood's overall appearance is very similar to Zebrawood, though Marblewood tends to have a slightly finer texture. Combination of dark brown or nearly black lines on a creamy yellow.
